No you are not crazy it’s just the energies of August

Feeling unbalanced, a bit paranoid, tearful, tired, exhausted, fed up?  Feeling like your life is on the verge of change but nothing has happened yet? Well, you’re not alone and this is the reality for many of us at the moment.  Last week I spent most of the hours of the day fighting extreme fatigue.  When I feel like this I know something big is on its way.  Yes, there are zones of conflict in the midst of turmoil as we speak.  The floods of Pakistan, the forest fires in Russia and Portugal and the continuing saga of the oil ‘disaster’ which is not being reported accurately by any means are just a few events that have kicked in since the cardinal cross at the beginning of the month began.  But as August opened we have also been inundated with new energies as the solar flare cycle which has been quiet for quite some time re-emerged firing off a massive ejection.  This only means one thing, new coded information is being hurled towards us and these energies have to be assimilated into our bodies and if I may add our conciousness which governs how we see, feel, and react.  I feel that August will be a month of incubation although a fiery seclusion waiting to burst.  And that all of these energies will climax which has been the theory all along but I believe we will have to wait until September and October before the fireworks go off. Which most likely will occur when Pluto awakens from its slumber in mid-September.  So be forwarned.

So if you have been having a hard time this month know it will pass and that you are not alone.  There are many shifts and changes going on in our lives at this time.  Endings are never easy but with every ending there is always a beginning.  I would like to leave you with the latest astrological weather report from Anne Ortelee who describes what we are currently experiencing very well.  I love the way she writes and she describes the energy of the moment so well.

Take care, Valentine.

Weekly Weather August 16, 2010

Our Cardinal T-square perfects this week, culminating in moments of choice for each of us. T-squares are crossroads in the heavens, asking us to make choices and choose our path. A three point heavenly cross guides us as we choose our next direction and head off towards our life. Often we come to a profound realization about ourselves during heavenly cross roads.

This cross road is a bit bigger than most others have been. There are 5 outer planets, which are societal and life direction planets, changing signs and starting new journeys. When the planet change signs, we change down here on earth too. As above, so below. As without, so within. We live in an interconnected world and universe where the symbolism and synchronicity interplay in our lives across time and space.

I always laugh and love it when some one asks me if I really believe in astrology. I reply “Of course I do. And YOU believe in astrology too! Even if you actually don’t realize it.” Asked to explain, often with a scowl on their face, (translated as: How dare I suggest that THEY believe in Astrology?), I reply “Well the Sun affects your behavior ~ you wear a coat in winter and sweat in the summer ~ just as the Sun impacts all life and causes the seasonal cycles of everything on earth. And the Moon makes the tides of the ocean move as well as the tides of water within you. The OCEAN! The Moon moves the Ocean! So if those TWO bodies have such a profound impact on us down here on earth, how can we ignore the other bodies up there?” And I smile sweetly, often with a giggle added, just for extra emphasis as in ~ you silly, you never thought of THAT before did you?

Weeks like the past few and the one to come, just affirm my understanding of the cycles and impact of same. We Virgos LOVE a good system for categorizing and organizing things. So forward we go to the t-square culmination that we’ve been waiting for! Our next chapter awaits us ~ as the heavens present us with a moment of choice.

But first a word of caution. I’ve had a few clients call with recent suicides in their lives, particularly that first week in August when Mars was so active. This is a big week for feeling you can’t take it a moment more and acting on it too. Another big suicide week. Soooooo, IF you know someone who has been having a particularly hard time lately, take the time to give them a call and talk to them. Let them know that this week is particularly hard energetically. And that all the difficult energy will start to abate after the weekend. However, THIS week will be tough so you want them to know you love them and would like to help in any way you can. They know you believe in that astrology stuff ~ and in a secret part of their being, they resonate to it (even if they don’t admit it on the surface or to your face). Heck, you always get the problems that happen during a Mercury retrograde right!

So encourage them to make NO PERMANENT decisions or final solutions to their problems to the extent possible. No acting out their inner Mel Gibsons or Steven Slaters, even if they really, really want to deploy the emergency exit chute while chugging a beer. And if they mention they are thinking of killing themselves or killing some one else, talk to them, all night long if need be. Get them help. Take it SERIOUSLY! This is the week when they will act on it. If they are thinking they are having a nervous breakdown, take them to the hospital. If some one is stalking or threatening someone you know, encourage the person to get OUT of their normal life routines for the week. And to be careful. No points for bravery. No cavalier dismissing it as foolishness. Take care of yourself and others this week.

I hate to be an alarmist astrologer but some weeks are rougher than others. This week we have Jupiter opposing Saturn for the second time and Saturn squaring Pluto for the third time. Saturn/ Pluto is a terrorist aspect. Jupiter /Saturn is separating hardship, endings and structure from the good times and sense of optimism. The planets are in signs that are CARDINAL so they like to take action! And Uranus is at the crazy making degree of 29 Pisces, where the boundaries between illusion and delusion are very, very frayed and fragile. We need to take good care of each other this week.

Essentially, we will all be fighting or arguing with the principle of being our own authority, growing up and being the adult in the room. Part of us wants to be a big kid and stomp our feet. Part of us knows we have to grow up now. Jupiter and Pluto are both Saturn’s kids. The kids are fighting with Dad, or the authority ~ perceived, believed, real or unreal, in their lives. We will be struggling with our own ideas of authority too. How grown up are we really? How much of us is still 5 and wanting to be comforted? We have to comfort ourselves this week.

Mercury stations to go retrograde after setting off the t-square by declination aspect which finds him siding with Saturn and fighting with Uranus and Jupiter. So expect unexpected news that is rather shocking. Sun opposes Neptune and Chiron so the sense of illusion or the dream dissolves and you see things clearly that you may not have seen before. Both Venus and Mars have hard aspects to Neptune and Chiron too. In their case, the planets of desire and action are in a stressful place of needing to take action to find relief. And they are working together to start a new cycle right as all the other planets are collapsing in piles of exhaustion.

So take care of yourself. Take care of your loved ones. Get extra nurturing. Get your self extra support if your old addictions come a’ calling with all the tension in the sky. One of the things I noticed in the Steven Slater story was the reference to 12 steps and sobriety on his Face book page and the reporting that he grabbed a beer as he made his exit down the emergency slide after a very, very bad day at work. It is a VERY easy time to slip back into old destructive ways of nurturing yourself so be careful to get yourself extra support if you find yourself tempted.

And in a week it will be all over! If the financial markets are going to collapse, this is the week. So fingers crossed (and toes too) we all make it to the other side. I am rooting for you! And you need to root for you too. And make sure to root for the people in your life who need rooting for! We are all in this beautiful world together for a reason. And what a ride eh? Clear those cobwebs and fears! Full steam ahead to the next chapter!

Monday August 16 Moon in Scorpio kicks up some intense energy as the Sun has an aspect of brilliance. Moon has nice closing aspects of a trine to Uranus offering creative energy to draw upon. Make sure to note your dreams or great ideas upon awakening. Venus argues with the principle of health and healing shifting her energy to other areas. Be careful not to indulge in bad old behaviors today. Extra emotions abound as Jupiter approaches his opposition with Saturn. Fights with authorities…. Hmmm. Mars squares the nodes offering us the opportunity to choose up or down, good or bad, left or right, whining and crying or growing up. Or maybe a bit of both? It is a choice day. Jupiter opposes Saturn part two of three. Back to May 23rd, when they opposed each other for the first time. Their third time is March 28, 2011. Part two of the opposition asks you to focus on the project you began in May 28, 2000 when they joined at 22 Taurus to begin a new cycle. It calls to mind December 17, 2005, June 22, 2006 and October 25, 2006 when they squared each other, testing whether this was the right choice for you. Now, as they oppose each other, think about the changes you want or need to make to move your life and life’s work forward.

Tuesday August 17 Moon in Sagittarius answers to Jupiter, recently bruised after his fight yesterday with Saturn. The closing aspect is a square to Uranus suggesting separating energy that pushes you to a new place or wants to end a situation. It is a rocking and rolling day as there are numerous aspects in the heavens. Venus erupts with passion and moves rapidly affecting emotions, finances and desires. Mars links up with Eris, the Goddess of Discord to produce some mighty irritated and irritable energy. We are all cranky! Don’t take action if it is destructive. And most actions will be destructive. Be aware the desire is to go nuclear. And quickly. Will that actually HELP the situation? Venus, the principle of love, money and caring is deeply wounded today as she links up with Chiron. She also reaches the end of her proverbial rope. She’s frustrated and angry. Old wounds can be opened. Look at the wounds. Apply astringent. Clear it out. Clean it out. It is YOUR wound, but it existed in your soul to create the life you have. It will never go away but it can be nurtured back into silence or quiet. If you think about it, your wound actually helped you become who you are today. Wounds exist for a reason. Try to understand the reason. I know it hurts but that is the way to clarity.

Wednesday August 18 Moon in Sagittarius continues to push the energy forward passionately. Venus squares the nodes today offering her the same choice Mars had to make on Monday. Be careful not to operate out of your wound. What do you love? Is this situation part of getting you clear on what you want to create in your life? Maybe not with the person or situation standing right before you but it is something you want or need just the same. Be clear. Be brave. Hold your own hand. Support your self. Support your dream. Make a clear choice that supports your desire and life path. Don’t choose out of fear of your wound! Don’t act out of fear of or from your wound! Mars has an ending energy today as he has stresses and agonizes about the decision(s) before him. No permanent endings with knives, guns, jumps or pills! This is a decision time but not time for PERMANENT decisions. Caution around words as things can “end” today. Mars is fighting mad but also boxing against or with smoke and steam. What he is fighting is actually a figment or illusory battle of and in his own mind. Mars is building up a head of steam to take action. Try and reason with him. Or move out of his way. Be careful today. Take precautions. Even if YOU are crystal clear and paying attention, the OTHER guy can be totally out of his or her mind. Caution on angry encounters. Mars has a booster rocket on him today ~ and can be just as explosive. Sex can be completely amazing but there is a strong level of fantasy to all actions taken today so be aware of that as a subset of the energy. While it might look like an amazing partnership, reality is right around the corner. Mercury links up with Saturn by declination and receives very difficult news. Go home and pull the covers over your head (if you can) or call your support people. Relationships can end or transform today.

Thursday August 19 Moon in Capricorn brings us down to reality, with a loud bump. Mercury is slowing to a stop in the sky. Moon goes through the t-square ~ Capricorn Moon can be a critical and difficult energy today as we find the flaw or problem rather than the good parts. Our t-square is triggered yet again. Sun faces a stressful choice as it aspects the Nodes. The power of a booster rocket sets off Venus and her energy today as she too faces off and dissolves the illusions fostered by Neptune. It is NOT okay. There IS a problem! High emotions rule the day. Sun pushes for hope but Mars joins with powerful destructive energy today by declination. War? Collapses? Chaos? Something mighty, mighty big. Mercury fights with Uranus by declination. Words can cause endings, separations, chaos and changes today. Mercury is stopping in the sky as these aspects occur making the words even more powerful and potent. Sun has about had it with these difficult energies and wants to pull the plug on the situation. A great day for firings and break ups and crashes and collapses. The structure just can’t hold it together any more. Pluto asks us to take a new approach to partnerships that are not working for us any more. People can get on your last nerve. Remember the good times when you are feeling like lashing out. This is a transit. They are having crappy stuff on their side too.

Friday August 20 Moon in Capricorn receives a trine from stationing Mercury today. Mercury stopped in the heavens forces us all to look with new eyes at the dawning of a new day where everything is changed. Our souls feel enormous needs to stretch out and relieve the stress even as we feel more building within our being. Sun opposes Neptune so the clarity begins to break through the fog. We will start to see things clearly. This is what the crossroads was for in YOUR life. The moment of clearness arrives ~ or starts to arrive. High emotions move things rapidly. Venus fights with the Goddess of the Sea, Sedna, asking us to understand the role of our interconnected world. The oceans roar as emotions swirl. Mars and Venus both sesquiquadrate Chiron, opening old wounds, causing us to feel a bit ill perhaps. Chiron at the last degrees of Aquarius reminds us that we are all members of the same tribe, like it or not. What happens to one can happen to all. Venus joins with Mars today an hour before Mercury stations retrograde. Venus/ Mars square the Node and form a Hammer of Thor with Neptune and Chiron. Our beliefs and understanding of our world will be forever altered by the events of today. Our pattern of reality is changing before our eyes.

Saturn day August 21 Saturn squares Pluto in the early morning hours, finishing the third of three squares. The first was November 15 2009, the second was January 31, 2010 and the third is today. This is a terrorist or war aspect. It is active when ever we are experiencing terrorist activity. Moon is in deep places all day long allowing us to emotionally process the events of the last week. Sun opposes Chiron, activating the fears and wounds but also offering us an opportunity to take action and heal. Saturn forms a contraparallel aspect with Uranus which is mighty powerful for transformation and shifting of reality. We break free in a way we never have before. We break down in a way we never have before. Once we break, we can begin to heal. Vesta’s square says time will heal all and time will heal nothing. Some things can never heal.

Sunday August 22 Moon in Aquarius allows us to detach and move up 20,000 feet to get a better view of what is actually going on. Moon has helpful aspects as she goes through the t-square and attempts to make sense of what is going on. Sun is inconjunct Uranus asking us to adjust and find stability. Astraea, the asteroid of hygiene, cleanliness and astringency, crystal clear vision stations to go retrograde. We pucker a bit, like biting into a juicy lemon. It stings but also feels good. The energy starts to separate and abate. Relief is right around the corner.

The Summer of 2010 and releasing through tears

I’m back! Please forgive my delay in posts July was a whirlwind of a month with the launch of my first novel, ‘Zoe Evans’ Possible Worlds the Crystal,’ and with all of the hard work I had been pouring in getting it ready for the publishers for publication I realised I needed a long break.  I think we often forget that overkill is not always the best remedy and at some point it catches up with you and the brain says “Stop! I need a break.”

Alas, I am recuperating which is what I want to discuss in this latest post.  This summer has been filled with some very emotional energy and it is still currently with us and will be as we move through the month of August.  As 2010 crept in at the beginning of the year I knew this was going to be a dramatic year for many of us.  For me a novel I wrote almost nine years ago was going to be published this year which was exciting but also exhausting.  So many of us are experiencing rapid change in our lives now.  I have never been a lucky person in life and things do not come easily to me.  I’ve always had to work very hard but now for many of us who have not had it easy we are realising that we have choices in life and we can create our own luck.

The lunar eclispe on the 26th June and the solar eclipse on the 11th July 2010 surely kicked up alot of stuff for many of us and we have now whether conciously or not embraced the fact that life is going to change whether we like it or not.  The energies that these eclipses kicked up have been very intense and completely tiring.  Eclipses are always emotional but I found the eclipses this summer to be very cathartic.  I am an Earth sensitive.  So I feel very in tune with any new energies that  hit our atmososphere and enter into our bodies.  At the end of June I cried it seemed all day for a week as the eclipse approached.  My crown chakra buzzed and felt tense as the energies hit my body.  I felt exhausted and was crying constantly.  I was not depressed but the sadness was deep. I was releasing although I was not clear exactly what I was releasing.  Sometimes when new energies hit the Earth it has this effect on us and I certainly was feeling the new albeit in a strange way.  But, I am sure others had similar experiences and I feel tears have been very dominant this summer. 2010 has been a very emotional year so far.  I would term it as the year of emotion.  The dramatic earthquakes that have hit Haiti, Chile, China and other places have been very draining energetically.  Couple this with the ash cloud in the early spring in Europe and the oil spill, or should I say ‘catastrophe’ in the Gulf  it is safe to say that world events have certainly shaken many of us up.  The solar eclipse on the 11th July certainly did bring fresh new positive energy in.  There was a lightness in the air for the first couple of weeks of July and I myself felt very uplifted for a short while in comparison to the moodiness I had to fight at the end of June.

The dreaded and much talked about Cardinal Climax, Cardinal Cross came into fruition on the 6th August changing the energy once again.  I found myself feeling angry and low in energy from mid July and again the tears came back.  The energy that is currently around us reminds me of being in a ‘void’ period.  There is potential for growth but everything is delayed.  I have a sneaky feeling it is the quiet before the storm and I’m sure October will be an action packed month.  All of this energy is building towards something and as we have seen in the first half of 2010 this is not going to be a quiet year.

So in the meantime I have been laying low and keeping my distance from others.  Crying, releasing accepting the restrictions that are around and waiting for the clearing and infusion of new energy to take hold and deliver the news it has to bring.

So if you feel like releasing tears during these times know you are not alone.  There is an unspoken malaise in the air, as if we are in a holding pattern.  Take a breath and as Depeche Mode say, “Enjoy the silence.”

Until next time.

Understanding Astrology

Aurora Borealis or Northern lights hitting Earth's atmosphere

I have often had people ask me over the years if Astrology is real.  I completely understand why many do not believe it is real as a conscious effort from those in the know have worked dilligently to discredit this ancient science. Although many do not realise it Astrology is a science that is based on mathematical precision.  It is also a metaphysical science as its proof can be seen through the energetic matrix that is present on this planet.  We feed into this energetic matrix and upon birth infuse ‘cosmic codes’ into our DNA that can be read through the astrological chart.  A very good way of proving this energetic matrix can be seen in the Aurora Borealis.  In this instance, we can see with the physical eye the flow of energy coming off of the planets and sun into our dimensional fabric.  We then breathe this energy into ourselves as it permeates through everything around us.  This is how Astrology works on the mundane level.  It is simply a system of energetics computed through Mathematical precision and interpreted through a graph like structure, the natal wheel.

Up until the 20th Century Astrology was a part of Astronomy and was practiced alongside one another.  Kepler practiced Astrology as have many others such as Karl Jung, the father of modern Psychology and student of Freud.  Of course astronomers today have the power in naming new bodies that are found in our Galaxy.  When the recently discovered planet Sedna was named Astrologers began to feel very in tune with the energy this planet carried and felt that the right name was given.  Sedna is an Innuit Godess who protects the oceans. Interesting that this planet was discovered at a crucial time when we have been so focused on our oceans and the life forms such as polar bears, and penguins who get their sustenance from it. This is the beauty of Astrology and there is no coincidence here just a reminder that we are all feeding from a collective consciousness that is joined whether we are aware of it or not.

So what can Astrology do for us?  Many Astrologers may have different ideas about what Astrology should be used for.  Should it be used for predictive purposes, psychoanalysis, predicting world events?  There will always be divisions in this respect but one thing is for sure it can help you understand what is going on in your life.  What lessons you have come into this incarnation to work on, and why some of the main players in your life act the way they do.  It is a great tool for learning and helps one discover themselves.

We are now in a period of great change.  There is a shift of energy that is arriving onto this planet which many have termed Ascension.  More and more of us are having spontaneous kundalini awakenings as our bodies transmute its old carbon blueprint into a more crystalline base.  It is just not our planet that is ascending or lifting vibration it is our whole solar system and galaxy.  The heating up of our planet has alot more to do with metaphysical pheneomena than the emission of carbon gases.  NASA is well aware of this fact and has been gathering overwhelming data to confirm that something within the energetic backdrop of Earth and our solar system is changing.  Again, this information is being witheld from the public keeping people in a fog of ignorance but eventually many more people due to the increasing vibrational energies will awaken as strange symptoms of anxiety, fatigue and illness will become and harder and harder to ignore.

So, we can use Astrology to help us through these changing times ahead.  The planet Pluto is now in Capricorn which rules structures, and government.  We are in for some tough times financially and are only in the early stages of this great change.  There is no reason to fear this change just arm yourself with knowledge and be flexible with the changes that will occur around all of us. This summer things will definitely heat up and it will continue well into 2011 and the next few years due to the well known cardinal climax that is being discussed by many astrologers. The upcoming transits of Uranus and Pluto squaring off will also unlodge a great deal taking us into revolutionary territory.  Stay grounded and know that new beginnings are on the way and Astrology can help inform all of us to understand what these new beginnings represent.

Volcanoes and earthquakes galore has the ‘Cardinal Climax’ arrived?

The huge plume of ash thrown from the Icelandic volcano

As 2010 arrived on the 1st January I knew that this would be a defining year.  Already at this point, I as many others such as yourself, was suffering with an overwhelming attack of fatigue and tiredness.  I have begun to put 2 and 2 together in the last few years and know whenever my fatigue levels hit an unbearable peak movement in the earth is a foot.

I am what is termed an earth sensitive as many in the lightworker family are.  I literally feel the energy of Gaia and if it is heavy and unsettled then I am heavy and unsettled.  The earthquakes that have hit in Haiti, Chile, and China especially have left me feeling extremely tired and out of balance weeks before they occurred.  I have spent much of 2010 trying to keep myself awake as my body has been wanting to shutdown due to the influx of energy moving around the earth. Movement these days has translated into a great amount of seismic activity.  It is true the earth constantly experiences earthquakes on a regular basis, nothing new there.  But the amount of damage and the upheaval caused is what is defining the recent rise in seismic activity as above and beyond.  Steve Rother and the group have been very forward about their predictions advising us to look to the ‘Ring of Fire’ in the Pacific to have a high volume of activity in the coming years.  Both Haiti and Chile are included in these areas and the earthquakes we have seen there are by design and are no accident.

However, not only are intense earthquakes something to be concerned about now we have volcanoes to contend with.  I personally have not come across any channelings from my regular sources such as Steve Rother, Karen Bishop, Lisa Renee or Kryon particluarly on volcanoes but I do know astrologers have been warning about the years of 2010 to 2014 as being fraught with tension and economic change.  Of course, natural catastrophes can also kick start economic problems and although many of us think we live in a society that is advanced and beyond ‘nature’ the recent explosion coming from a volcano in Icleand is forcing us to re-evaluate things, just a bit.

I am based in Britain and here we have been hit hard by the ash plume that has invaded our skies thousands of miles above us.  This is where our planes fly and for the first time since World War II British airspace as well as European airspace has been shut down.  Which is unprecendented.  Airspace has been shutdown for almost 5 days causing many problems for travellers and airlines.  A review of this is now underway and by the 20th April flights at least on a small scale will begin again across Europe.

So what is going on and is this the beginning of the chaos that has been predicted by astrologers and intuitives? Last year I read a great article by an astrolger named Theodore White.  The article discussed the coming years from 2010 beginning with an alignment where many of the heavy hitting planets such as Pluto, Jupiter and Uranus would be moving into the early degrees of Cardinal signs.  (The article is provided in full below.)  In astrology the 0 degree is known as a critical degree.   Having a planet at 0 degrees Aries is very fortunate but it also carries a heavy punch.

Most likely the recent rise in seismic activity with high levels of damage and now a volcano eruption indicates to me that the ‘Cardinal Climax’ White has termed is building in intensity and most likely we will not begin to see the true fallout until June or July this year once Uranus enters Aries on May 27th 2010.  Keep in mind Aries is a fire sign and as Uranus is now entering into this sign I would expect unexpected eruptions of a volcanic kind to become big news in coming years. As Uranus rules the unexpected and accidents.

If you look at the picture above the ash cloud from a volcano in Iceland actually looks like a nuclear explosion.  And we have definitely been feeling an explosion of sorts here in Europe.  In Britain the news media have termed it as the ‘Ash Crisis’ causing untold amounts of damage to the economy.  The other point to keep in mind is what will happen when this cloud hits the ground?

Astrologically there have been some good articles written about the timing of the eruption in Iceland.  Lynn Hayes discusses it on her blog, ‘Astrological Musings’ and others have looked into it finding some interesting tidbits of information.  Most likely we will be hearing alot more from Iceland before all is said and done.  In Europe, Iceland was one of the main contributors for the great crash that took place in 2008.  Many councils across the UK had invested great amounts of taxpayers money into Icelandic Banks, only to see the banks go bust.  I believe Iceland will be a major force in the coming shift so no wonder all eyes are on their volcanoes.

The volcano that has caused disruption is one of the smaller ones, if the bigger volcano decides to re-awken then what we have experienced will hit on an even bigger scale.

I would suggest that you get acquainted with the upcoming astrological alignments that is on the way.  The ‘Cardinal Climax’ which is just around the corner will no doubt wake many out of their slumber.  Because as far as I am concerned too many are still asleep.  One of the backlashes of the ‘Ash Crisis’ has shown how slowly European governments have acted to help bring those who are stranded home.  When the real shit hits the fan don’t look to the government to save you, if they can get out of it they will.  Inform yourself, be smart and listen to your intuition.  The earth feels all of our vibrations and she will keep you safe if you are meant to be here in years to come.

A special thought goes out to all of those who are are stranded and trying to get home.  As for us earth sensitives, I suppose we will keep doing the work we do when we spend the many hours asleep that we do as I believe on a higher level we are helping to keep the energy levels stable which of course makes us fatigued in our normal 3-D lives.  How long we can keep this going is anyone’s guess. As the earth changes may become too great for us to buffer in coming months and years.

The Cardinal Climax & Global Transits of 2010

Economic & Social Phase Change & Peak Oil

A New World Era Dawns

©2009 By Theodore White, classical astrologer

Times are changing. Over the past two years, I’ve witnessed much of what I already knew over 10 years ago would be taking place as the decade of the 2000s drew to a close – an economic crisis the world over.

Astrologers who know about long-range global transits often are not believed when they warn about future trends; especially in the midst of booming economic prosperity, or, what economists call “Boom times.” Such as this most recent economic consume-and-spend era of the last 15 years.

Today, things have changed. Every day brings news of what many people feel is a coming depression. Rising unemployment in double-digits loses of homes and businesses to foreclosures have led to people very afraid of the future.

This is seen in the cases of increased murder-suicides, break-ups of families, relationships and marriages as whole communities weighed down under the onslaught of foreclosures are turning into ghost towns as retail shops, and malls shut down amid deterioration of 20th century infrastructures worldwide. Global trade has slowed to a crawl, increasing the worries about what the future holds.

World transits indicate that the current world economic crisis began quietly in August 2006, when a series of New Moon cycles started on August 23, 2006, with a new moon at 0-Virgo, leading to the New Moon of September 22, 2006 at 29-Virgo. This cycle began the shocking fallout in the world financial sectors

People the world over are very stressed out. What comes now?

“The US is doing everything possible to avoid these awful realities, but probably the worst self-deception is the idea that everything would be okay if we could just “re-start lending.” That’s just not going to happen, says James Howard Kunstler.

A former writer for Rolling Stone, the author of eight novels, and a regular contributor to the NY Times Magazine, Kunstler comments on a wide variety of issues from architecture, urban planning, to energy and economic issues. These days, he has taken aim on the unprecedented world economic crisis.

A firm believer in ‘peak oil,” Kunstler says the world economy is now in major transition and will continue to head downward until the globe gets itself un-addicted to the oil in the ground that is running out.

“The banking fiasco has introduced so much noise into the system that world leadership can’t think straight,” Kunstler says. “What they’re missing is real simple: peak oil means no more ability to service debt at all levels, personal, corporate, and government. End of story.”

“All the other exertions being performed in opposition to this basic fact-of-life amount to a spastic soft-shoe performed before a smokescreen concealing a world of hurt,” Kunstler says.

“If the ‘quantitative easing’ (money creation) and fiscal legerdemain (TARPs, TARFs, et cetera) happen to jack up the “velocity” of the new funny-money, and the world resumes its previous level of oil use, the price of oil would rise again — this time astronomically because the previous crash of oil prices crushed the development of new oil projects to offset depletion — and the global economy will crash again,” he points out.

Moreover, “there is no more capacity to service the debt we’ve already piled on, “Kunstler says about the 2008 economic crisis. “Americans borrowed too much, and the bankers who made obscene fortunes in fees and bonuses in fraudulent lending managed to leverage this un-payable debt into the greatest collective swindle the world has ever known. The swindle has sent poison into every cell of the macro socio-economic organism, and further swindles are unlikely to revive it.”

Since the peak of the downfall of the financial center in New York in September 2009, the world over the last six months has been in a state of utter shock as sinking GDPs, double-digit unemployment, bank closings, and business and trade contraction has rippled through the entire globe.

The losses as of April 2009 in the United States alone seems to confirm Kunstler’s comments:

· $213 million – Bonuses at American International Group (AIG)
$1.6 trillion – All AIG Toxic Assets
$8 trillion – Losses in Stock Market
$5 trillion – Losses in Real Estate
$35 trillion – Unfunded Medicare Debt
$20 trillion – Unfunded Social Security Debt
$24 trillion – Toxic Assets Held in European Banks
$500 trillion – Total Derivatives Market

Kunstler says that the next phase of this “poison” in the world’s financial system is sure to move beyond the financial, and into the social and political arenas.

“Disorder of various kinds will rule — toppled governments, civil unrest, international tension and conflict,” he points out.

Indeed, since the end of the solar year of 2008, many nations have been on the verge of revolution, with anti-government and anti-banking protests taking place in countries throughout the European Union, with disturbances in Russia, Asia, and in a most calm state like Iceland, where the government was forced to resign en masse in January 2009 after Iceland’s currency lost more than half its value.

In the United States, protests are already taking place with anger building daily with news of corruption and multi-million dollar bonuses for CEOs at companies at the heart of the economic crisis.

“The socio-political fallout from the inherent anger and disappointment in all this is liable to be severe,” Kunstler says. “The public is already warming up for it, with cheerleaders such as Glen Beck on Fox TV calling for the formation of militias, and gun sales moving out-of-sight. One mistake that the banking elite and their lawyer paladins made the past decade was their show of conspicuous acquisition — of houses especially — in easy-to-get-to places where anyone can see them, for instance an angry mob in Fairfield County, Connecticut, or Easthampton, New York.”

“We have no previous experience with this type of social unrest. Kunstler says.” The violence of the Vietnam era will look very limited and reasonable in comparison — in the sense that it was an uprising on the grounds of principle, not survival. And the Civil War was a wholly regimented affair between two rival factions.

“This time, people with little interest in principle beyond some dim idea of economic fairness, will be hoisting the flaming brands out of sheer grievance and malice,” Kunstler says.

Kunstler adds that, “President Obama will have to starkly change his current game plan if this outcome is to be avoided. I think he’s capable of turning off the mob — of preventing the grasshoppers from turning into ravening locusts — but it may take an extraordinary exercise in authority to do it, such as the true (not pretend) nationalization of the big banks, engineering the exit of Ben BernankeBen Bernanke from the Federal Reserve, sucking up the ignominy of having to replace failed regulator Tim Geithner in the Treasury Department, and calling out the dogs on the swindlers who had the gall to play their country for a sucker.”

Sadly, looking at the world’s astrological transits just ahead in the early 2010s, I would have to agree. We are in the last year of the first decade of the 21st century. From an astrological perspective, the true start of this new century begins in 2011, when a series of positions of the outer planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Pluto) begin to form powerful configurations among themselves on, or very near the Earth’s seasonal points.

Called the Cardinal Climax, the outer planets will touch upon the early degrees of the cardinal signs of Aries, Libra and Capricorn, forming strong squares and oppositions that are sure to heighten world tension in the midst of the economic collapse. Astrologers who are aware of these coming planetary configurations continue to be amazed at the power of these outer transits that peak in the years 2010 through 2014.

From this view, the year of 2010 is a key year as the world enters the second decade of the 21st century. As the world nears the year 2011, it is in a state of economic panic and decline. Clearly, the legacy era of the latter half of the 20th century is coming to an end, and a new era is on the horizon.

Kunstler states that the American standard of living as defined in the late 20th century “has got to come way down.”

What does he mean by “come way down?”

“What’s going on now is nature’s way of telling you that America’s standard of living has to be reduced by something between 20 and 50 percent. You can have it in the form of a compressive deflationary depression, including widespread bankruptcies… or you can have by way of inflation, in which money loses its value.

“But there’s one basic qualification to this: the way down is not symmetrical with the way up. That is, it’s really not just a matter of ratcheting down to a standard of living half of what it was, say, in 2006, because in the event all the various complex systems that support everyday life enter failure mode before our society re-sets at a theoretically lower level of equilibrium.”

Kunstler elaborates: “By this I mean our methods for getting food, for moving about the landscape, for deploying capital, for trading and manufacturing, for schooling, doctoring, and running public services all destabilize and, to some degree or other, fail to deliver their contribution to normal daily life. Banking (capital deployment) is already mortally wounded. It remains to be seen how this will affect the food supply half a year ahead in the harvest season.

He paints a picture where “capital is as big an ‘input’ for our method of farming” as diesel fuel or fertilizers when created from methane gas. “The failure of banking will combine with city and state insolvency to crush public transit, law enforcement, fire protection, and whatever flimsy local safety nets exist to keep the ultra-poor and helpless from die-off.”

“The lowering of living standards by 20 to 50 percent essentially eliminates all but the must critical commerce, meaning that most of the stores in the malls and strip malls lose their customers and shed employees,” he says, “while the mall and strip mall owners lose their rents, and the bankers lose performing commercial real estate loans. As all this occurs, tax revenues go way down; schools can’t pay their employees or buy diesel fuel for their yellow bus fleets.”

So, according to this scenario, many more people could lose their health insurance with hospital becoming overwhelmed and western-styled health care lowers to levels of the Third World. “

“Meanwhile, pensions are destroyed; the elderly live on dog food and ketchup. . .” Kunstler points out like something out of a bad Ayn Rand novel.

“This is where we’re headed,” Kunstler surmises.” It could easily be worse than the 1930s, when we still had plenty of family farms, plenty of oil, plenty of factories in good running order, and a highly regimented population of workers unaccustomed to luxury, leisure, and entitlement.”

As spring takes shape in the northern hemisphere, most of the world already is very much aware of the global economic downturn that has affected every area of life and industry worldwide.

Trade has nearly ceased between nations; banks have not been lending, home values continue to fall worldwide, and construction of new houses and commercial buildings has completely halted.

“We’ve hardly begun to see the potential political repercussions of economic disorder now underway,” Kunstler states. “I think it will start to show in a big way not long after Memorial Day, when the current false euphoric Wall Street rally ends in yet another pool of tears, and the despair trickles downward.”

“A crucial piece of the outcome depends on what happens over at Attorney General Eric Holder’s Justice Department – which lately seems to have seceded from the federal government,” Kunstler says. “A peeved public is going to start wondering why the bankers and insurers have not been called in by the criminal division to do a little ‘splainin’. As the spring yields to summer, the Obama team’s current fix-it plans are also likely to have run out of credibility. Mr. Obama better be prepared to get a new game.”

We mortgaged our future and the future has now begun,” he says. “Tough noogies for us. But the broad public won’t accept the reality of this as long as the grandees of finance and their myrmidons appear to still enjoy the high life.”

“They’ve got to be brought down hard,” Kunstler believes. “Perhaps even disgraced and humiliated in the courts, and certainly parted from some of their fortunes — if only in lawyer’s fees. Obama pretty much served notice to this effect (in early April 2009) telling a delegation of bankers in the White House that he was the only thing standing between them and ‘the pitchforks.’ It’s possible he understands the situation.”

World Transits: The Cardinal Climax

The Astrological Year of 2009 will undoubtedly be the first full year of the beginning of the transition from the legacy world of the 20th century, into the new era of the 21st century.

By the year 2010, the outer planets of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Pluto will form a series of squares and oppositions touching on the seasonal cardinal points of Aries, Libra, and Capricorn, forming what is known as the “the Cardinal Climax” – a major series of T-square aspects that will rotate the world in 2010, and early 2011.

Cardinal signs are “initiating” and often, when the superior planets are involved in such configurations, the world is influenced by a series of major problems that can be difficult to resolve immediately.

Saturn/Pluto world squares are mainly unfavorable, and can lead to rigid attitudes among people that can lead to power struggles as a result of economic, political and professional plots. Pluto’s position in Capricorn indicate that the wealthy are involved, and Saturn’s coming transit in tropical Libra squares Pluto, indicating that the struggles against widespread corruption will heighten in 2010.

Jupiter will form its first square to Pluto in July 2010, and again in February 2011. These squares continue the power play influences of the earlier Saturn/Pluto square, where forceful tactics are employed using cultural, philosophical or religious means to force others to reform, or to use dishonest means to obtain power and status. Conflicts over finances and outdated modes of doing business are continued under this Jupiter/Pluto square where sustained struggles against corruption and established power bases heighten. The problems of pride, arrogance, and yet neglect over small, but important details are common under this Jupiter/Pluto configuration.

The problems inherent in the world’s financial and political systems have been witnessed throughout the globe since the first of several Saturn/Uranus oppositions began in November 2008. Saturn/Uranus oppositions are well-known among mundane astrologers for clearly showing conflicts between old and newer ways of doing things.

This is mainly expressed through polarizations between existing power structures and generations and younger generations and newer power structures emerging. The clashes within professional classes often extend into the personal sphere of relationships under a Saturn/Uranus opposition with relationships that once were important and needed for the security of all are threatened by inconsistent behaviors; especially through frustrations that come from the need to change existing conditions.

Adding to the Saturn/Uranus opposition, is the coming Jupiter/Saturn opposition from 2010-2012. Occurring every 20 years, the last Jupiter/Saturn opposition happened in the years 1990-1992.

This particular opposition from 2010-2012 occurs along the Pisces/Virgo and Aires/Libra axis. Most Jupiter/Saturn oppositions signify major changing times, and also can indicate poor timing in business matter and problems within professional and personal affairs as well.

Bureaucratic red-tape is a common complaint during such Jupiter/Saturn oppositions, and the frustrations that build up as a result can be unleashed in public, sometimes in violent manner.

The conflicts that are influenced by Jupiter/Saturn oppositions can adversely affect personal matters, friendships and relationships that were once seen as positive. Ethics can suffer, and hypocrisy often arises under this planetary opposition where once stable professional and personal relationships can suffer.

One of the reasons why it is so important for the world economic crisis to be solved before the next decade matures is because of the coming Uranus/Pluto square from 2012 to 2018. The slowness of the outer planets makes such unfavorable aspects much more powerful, as this particular global aspect will last for nearly seven years before all is said and done.

Uranus’ entry into tropical Aries, briefly in June, July, and August 2010, and then fully by mid-March 2011, indicates a new world era. Uranus is ending an 84-year cycle it began in 1928, and by March 2011, Uranus will start a new cycle that is important in mundane world affairs.

With Uranus entering the seasonal vernal equinox point of 0-Aries in March 2011, the world will surely be on the precipice of what can truly be called the start of the 21st century.

For 15 months from its first full ingress into Aries in March 2011 to the month of June 2012, Uranus will mainly be un-aspected by major outer planets until it forms its first exact square to Pluto in Capricorn in late June 2012.

These 15 months from March 2011 to June 2012 provides a “grace period” where many positive accomplishments can be made to greatly reduce the volatile energies to come – particularly from June 2012 to spring 2014, and again, from the years 2015-2018.

From June 2012 on, transiting Uranus and Pluto will square one another consistently, within orb of one another, until the year 2018. This has major ramifications for the world as Uranus/Pluto squares in the Signs of Aries and Capricorn influence powerful global rebellious tendencies that could lead to the near collapse of governments, and in some cases, outright revolutions taking place in several countries worldwide.

The cardinal square of Uranus in a violent Sign of Aries forces established structures (Capricorn) to often respond ruthlessly to problems that has long been allowed to fester without resolution.

This can lead to events on large-scale events such as revolutions that can overwhelm establishments that have not adjusted from the transition from the legacy era of the late 20th century to the new era of the 21st century.

Dangerous situations can arise during Uranus/Pluto squares where people may have to face potentially life-threatening situations not initiated by them, but forced on them nonetheless because of events affecting large numbers of people.

Sudden financial losses can also come under this transit if finances are not handled properly. Power struggles to and within corporations, as well as outright public rebellions are a constant threat under this Uranus/Pluto square due to the failure of established power structures to concede power, or who have become too conservative, rigid, and unyielding in their philosophy as to have outlived their usefulness.

The failure of individuals, groups, organizations, corporate and government leaders, to use the 15-months of Uranus’ first transit of tropical Aries will surely lead to great upsets that will shake the foundations of all existing structures, and, in the cases of many, destroy them for good.

One of the most serious problems concerning The Cardinal Climax world transits of 2010/2011 will be in the proper use of Time. From my perspective, the wasting of valuable time by not resolving outstanding problems before these outer planets configure is a direct cause of the later, more serious events to take place worldwide in the 2010s.

The best way to counter the most powerful malefic transits of the 2010s is for many people, groups, organizations, governments and nations to freely admit that times are changing, and to make serious and lasting adjustments to the way business is done, and how society must work together positively, before the world transits configure into unfavorable positions.

One of the ways the planet’s energies affect the world is through the lack of use of positive free will, and the allowance of negativity to dominate until the malefic influences build to a crescendo.

For much of 2009, transiting Jupiter will conjoin Chiron and Neptune in tropical Aquarius as transiting Saturn continues its oppositions to Uranus in Pisces throughout the year while Saturn moves into its first major square to Pluto in Capricorn by November 2009, and throughout much of 2010.

However, the months of July through November 2009 contain some of the best world transits to make progress for those people willing to adapt, which can be continued into the early months of 2010, just before the Cardinal Climax transits of summer 2010 come into play.

Trends show that local businesses through the work of entrepreneurs can see opportunity in these times, according to the trend research of Gerald Celeste of New York’s Trends Institute, who highlights the commercial crash of retail in 2009, his trends for 2009, and about his difficulty in taking out money from his hometown bank.

James Kunstler says,“Lending on the scale that became normal over the last decade is for sure the one thing that we will not recover. We turn around in 2009 to find ourselves a much poorer nation than we thought we were a year ago, especially among that broad range of formerly middle-class wage-earners who lived so luxuriously until yesterday. The public can’t process this reality, and the president, for all his relaxed charm, is either not ready to articulate it, or can’t process it himself.

2010, Living with change and experiencing the new

Image of the destruction caused by the Hatian earthquake

Happy belated New Year and a warm welcome to all of you who have been visitors here on my blog and to all the new visitors.  I am relieved and delighted to see 2009 finally end.  I am sure I am not alone as many of us experienced the uneasy ups and downs last year brought.

It’s taken me almost 6 weeks to sit down and write to you all.  My soul has been wanting to but it’s as if I was asked to wait for the right moment.  2010 has come in quite dramatically for me, and if it has for me then it has for others as we are all connected at the higher levels.  Astrologically, I have read about the upcoming cardinal climax that will be occurring around the Spring and as always my body is feeling the incoming energies quite intensely.  2010 will be a dramatic year for the world so hold on to your seats. The energies are quite abrupt and I felt them intensifying during the last few weeks of December! Feelings of exhaustion have been plaguing me, and I am now determined to get to the root cause of it all.  Yes we are being pounded with energies from our solar system at a great level, but I gather I must have a block in one of my chakras as well. Working on ourselves never stops.

Nevertheless, I aptly named this article with the above title at the beginning of 2010.  Little did I know how relevant this subject would be on a micro and macro level.  The earthquake in Haiti certainly did announce that 2010 will be a watershed year.  I believe that over 200,000 Haitians have since died.  It is a mass departure of souls but yet it is likely that we have now entered a time period where more and more souls will leave allowing the new souls to arrive in the form of Indigo and Crystal children.  In my family, I had recently been given very bad news around the time of the earthquake.  An aunt of mine who I had many problems with over the years killed herself.  I will leave out all of the details but we had a very challenging relationship as she was not the easiest person ego wise to deal with.`Her departure has left a hole in our family.  Many of us question what we could have done differently to help her.  I feel everything happened the way it was supposed to, and she came into this incarnation to have the experience she did.  With her removal from my life there is a new energy that has emerged.  A new beginning if you like as I no longer have to be drawn into the negativity that came with our interaction.

In addition, my long-term marriage and relationship has finally ended its course.  I have laboured for 3 years to hold on, but the necessary change is to hard to fight.  My husband and I will always love each other and we were great teachers to one another but as with everything happening now it is time to close one door and open another.

It seems that on a large scale this is happening to others too.  Negativity that once seemed to have full reign to create chaos is now breaking down.  Many souls who are not in tune with the new energies are leaving and many new souls are coming here to take their place.   I have just learned of the death of the Fashion designer Alexander McQueen.  It seems more and more high profile individuas are also choosing to leave at this time.  Interesting that he committed suicide just as my aunt did- the energies certainly seem to be pushing people to their limit at the moment.  For some it may be too much I feel. It is sad for many of us who are losing family members and friends, relationships, or our jobs, regardless there are alot of endings bouncing around in many of our lives. But there is also a certain amount of relief that is existent within all of this if only we see the other side of all of this change.  We have a chance to begin again.  Create a new world.

I believe that the new earth is here.  I feel I am living it daily.  I have little contact with the old world and many people  in it.  I work nights and use the time to prepare my novel which will be coming out soon. I have been working tirelessly on the editing of my manuscript before ‘I send it to my publisher.  I also use the time to write the second book in the series.  I enjoy the limited contact I have with the outside world and have been meeting nicer softer souls when at work.  They are not in tune with the metaphysical side, but they are good people nevertheless.

I can definitely feel that the new is here.  It may be shrouded around some sadness as we let go of our past but better times are ahead of us.
