On the 9th November 2012, Justin Welby was announced as the 105th Archbishop of the See of Canterbury. He officially became Archbishop on 4 February 2013, succeeding Dr Rowan Williams who retired at the end of December 2012. The new Archbishop was enthroned at Canterbury Cathedral on 21st March 2013. Of course in Astrological terms the 21st March is the Spring Equinox falling at 0 degrees Aries or 0 degrees of a cardinal sign which is known as the Aries point. The Aries point is an extremely powerful point where the energy urges to be pushed forward. There are four cardinal points that hold extreme importance which include the 21st March Spring equinox, 21st June Summer solstice, 21st September Autumn equinox, and 21st December Winter Solstice. Individuals who are born on the cardinal points of the zodiac tend to be thrust into the limelight in some shape or form for either good or bad. For example Edward Snowden was born on the Summer solstice, 21 June 1983. He is one of the more famous whistleblowers of our time. Sure there have been other whistleblowers who have blown the lid on government spying but they were not born on an Aries point! Hence the choosing of this date to enthrone the Archbishop was not all that surprising once you knew the detail. What was surprising was the robes he wore. The triquetra, three-pointed triangle, is an extremely powerful symbol in paganism and witchcraft. When invoking an entity the triangle of manifestation is called upon. Think of the television show Charmed, and the motto of the power of three. By chanting the power of three the sisters were able to corner a demon and vanquish it. This symbol has long been in use by pagans for many a century and is commonly found in Celtic art. Surprisingly, it has also been shared by Christians and is also known as a trinity knot. In essence it symbolises the divine feminine energy. The threefold nature of the Goddess is represented as maiden, mother, and elder. In Christian circles this has been changed to the father, son, and holy spirit. The triquetra traditionally is a symbol of female empowerment and it’s roots can be found in the vesica piscis, a shape of two intersecting circles that represent the womb. This is an ancient representation of divine sacred geometry which can be traced to ancient Egypt.
The blending of pagan symbolism amongst Christian orthodoxy should not be surprising. Although most people are not aware Christianity is based on Astro-theology, why else would the enthroning of the Archbishop take place on such an important date astrologically? The arrogance, however, of the flaunting of such concepts out in the open is the sign of the times. The origin of truth and what we understand to be real is being revealed for all to see.
I’m actually not a Royal lover or Royalist by any means. I do not condone the belief that a group of people have the right to be superior and above the average man. Nor pay their fair share of taxes. It strikes me odd that in the 21st Century people are so drawn to the Royal family regardless of the dark and dirty stories that have surfaced over the years. But the purpose of this post is not to hail proudly the announcement of the new Royal baby like many others, but to reveal that Will and Kate’s baby boy will challenge the status quo when he becomes a mature man. He will have the challenge of an eagerly changing world and the demise of the British Royal family will be on the cards. The full moon he is born under suggests great drama and revealing for the Royal family as the Moon in Capricorn directly corresponds to Britain – as it is a Capricorn nation. As I write this post thunder and lightning are lighting up and booming across the night’s sky. I can’t remember the last time I saw lightening in this country so bright and powerful as the energies are very volatile and foreboding. So let’s have a look astrologically to see what amazing potentials await this young soul or ‘old soul.’
The young Prince was born on Monday 22 July, 2013 at 4.24pm BST in London, England. He was born during the grand water trine of 2013 involving Saturn at 4 Scorpio, Neptune at 4 Pisces and Jupiter at 5 Cancer. Initially this grand trine is a very positive energy and extremely dreamy and inspirational. Individuals who are born under a grand trine have historically been seen as extremely lucky as a trine is generally viewed as a positive aspect. So combine three trines and you are very lucky indeed. At least this is the conventional wisdom. But sometimes having it too good can make you complacent and lazy. So although you are born with the potential of great luck and talent will you have the desire and conviction to go for your dreams? This is the problem with a grand trine. It promises much but makes you rather defensive lacking a fighting spirit to go for what you want. Prince Charles is another Royal who was born with a grand trine. His trine is in earth and the question we always ask of Charles is will he be King? He seems rather complacent to challenge his mother and make a bid for the throne. Rather, he is happy to live in his own world with the ‘earthly’ benefits it brings him leaving mummy to take care of business.
The Royal baby like his grandmother Princess Diana and father Prince William is a Sun sign Cancer. He is born with his sun at 29 degrees Cancer. Signs and elements run through families so it is no accident that he is also born a Cancer. For example, my father was a Sun sign Sagittarius. I was born with my Moon and Ascendant in Sagittarius. The young Prince has his sun at 29 Cancer which is known as the millionaires degree and of course he will be rich. However, the 29th degree of any sign comes with many complications. If a natal planet is found at 29 degrees of any sign, also known as the Anaretic degree, there can be some real issues with decision-making in that part of the personality represented by the energies of the planet. The native may evaluate and re-evaluate situations before making a move one day, and the next day, jump into the action without listening to himself or herself! The Royal baby will have to overcome great restlessness in his ego and a sense of urgency will plague him during his life. He will be motivated to act not necessarily from reason but from impulse. This may be a good thing if he is going to challenge the establishment – but a bad thing if he uses his potential to keep tradition in place.
Many children currently born from 2010-2015 will have the Pluto square Uranus aspect in their charts. This aspect holds the seeds for great turmoil and revolutionary spirit amongst the population and when these children become adults in 20 to 30 years from now, and when this aspect is triggered, many individuals including the young prince will be ignited to rise up and make sweeping changes in various areas of society. It is great to see that this young royal will be part of the generation that will truly bring change and plant the seeds for a new world. I have no doubts that Diana is smiling from afar as she disagreed with the Royal family on so many issues and disapproved of their cold and calculating manner.
We are currently living through the Pluto in Capricorn years which is eroding established structures and systems but when Pluto moves into Aquarius in 2024 new ways of living, revoultions in technology, governing, and thinking will finally be able to gain traction in our world. The path will be difficult as there will be many who will resist this change, but change is definitely on the horizon.
The young prince in his astrological chart shows he will have much to say about the establishment and the ‘old ways’. Pluto opposes his Mercury and squares his Uranus. He will be an extremely deep and rebellious thinker as Mercury is in his 8th house, the house of Scorpio. He will have a secretive nature and will not openly reveal himself during his younger years. In addition, he also has an opposition of Pluto to Mars and Jupiter that sit tightly conjunct. His Jupiter is also trine Neptune and he will embrace deep spiritual values in his lifetime after having a great epiphany. Spiritual values does not mean that he will be drawn to conventional religion but he will question the meaning of life in a deep way probably experimenting with taboo concepts and ways of thinking. An event around the age of 16 when his Solar arc Neptune conjuncts his IC will greatly change his outlook on life making him question his belief systems setting him on a deep path of exploration. He will be very charismatic and the public will be drawn to him but with Pluto in Capricorn opposing his Mars in Cancer in his 8th house, the house of Scorpio, he has the potential to be the victim of great bullying by the establishment and those responsible for his grooming. Most likely he will be told to tow the line and keep quiet. But with his Mercury in Cancer square Uranus in Aries he’s going to have a hard time keeping his opinions to himself as he matures. His opinions will also be very much outside of what has been traditionally accepted. He will also find himself attracted to foreign and/or ethnic women with his Venus in the 9th house which could be an issue for the Royals. Like Diana he will be a maverick with differing opinions from the ‘established’ norm which can cause him problems.
I do not like seeing the opposition of Pluto to his Mars in his chart. Pluto at odds with Mars creates great tension and a victim or victimiser scenario unfolds. Victims of child abuse often have a harsh aspect between Pluto (sex) and Mars (aggression). The revealing in recent years of ritual abuse in rich families has surfaced and been brought to our attention as this horrid practice is common among aristocratic families. A lack of love and attention purposely withdrawn as well as sexual abuse creates a cold and unfeeling personality. This behaviour is what creates the psychopath who is devoid of sensitivity and is calculating. Diana broke the mould with Will and Harry being present as much as she could in their lives giving them cuddles and affection when she herself did not get this as a child. However, this was abruptly ended with her early death when the two of them were were in adolescence years. However, Kate does not have Diana’s rebellious nature and will most likely stay silent and in her place rather than create any waves in the family. Hence, with his Moon in Capricorn and Sun square Saturn the young prince will experience his parents as reserved and austere with the family home being quite structured with little time for fun. The imposition of duty will weigh heavily on his young shoulders and he will find his home life to be quite sobering lacking happiness.
But the young royal will be no easy pushover. Although he does have a sensitive nature with his Sun in Cancer and plenty of water energy in his chart, he will not shrink into a corner and take his punishment lightly forever. He has his Ascendant in the steely sign of Scorpio. He will be your worst enemy or greatest champion of human rights. Rafael Nadal is a great example of someone with a Scorpio Ascendant. In childhood he recalls how he was mentally abused by his Uncle Toni, who still coaches him today. His Uncle Toni often called him a mama’s boy and treated him harshly. Nadal has used the challenges of childhood to become one of the greatest fighters the world of tennis has ever seen. His resilience is astounding. This is this the positive side of a Scorpio ascendant. Many people will experience a difficult childhood when born with a Scorpio ascendant and have to overcome their innermost fears, obsessive need to control and intense nature which can easily get out of balance and direct these negative characteristics into a positive outlet because if not, they can easily self-destruct.
The young royal shows great potential who will be embraced by the public with his Sun making a harmonious trine to his Ascendant. Although he will be raised to keep the establishment in place with his Moon in Capricorn as he matures he will have a hard time keeping his rebellious opinions to himself with his Sun opposing his Moon. He may walk the walk and look the part but underneath his reserved appearance will hide a complex and secretive personality eventually needing space to grow and heal as suggested by his Sun sesiquadrate Chiron, the wounded healer. His water grand trine and Sun in Cancer in the 8th house will make him deeply sensitive and understanding and although in childhood he may be reticent to voice his opinion as he grows into an adult life will force him to take a stand. I see great change coming for the royal family with Uranus in his fourth house squaring Mars the ruler of his Ascendant in Scorpio. As well as Pluto in Capricorn, the modern ruler of his ascendant, squaring his Uranus in the fourth house. His homelife, inner psyche and landscape of his mind will experience a great awakening when these aspects are triggered. He will most likely take the throne later in life around the age of 50 when his solar arc sun reaches his Midheaven. However, the importance of the Royal family by this time will definitely be in question as it will be reformed and reshaped in years to come.
It looks like Diana might get her wish after all!

Disappointing Unsealing Decision in Aaron Swartz Case
The public lost another battle in the U.S. v. Aaron Swartz case, this one over transparency. On May 13, 2013, the U.S. District Court judge handling the prosecution sided with the government, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and JSTOR and refused to make public any information in the case that any of these three entities wished to keep under seal. The ruling effectively grants the Department of Justice, MIT and JSTOR a veto over what the public gets to know about the investigation.
The decision stems from the government’s controversial prosecution of Aaron Swartz, the brilliant activist and Internet pioneer, who died in January. The government brought a myriad of charges against Swartz, most notably under the draconian Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA). After his tragic death, there were widespread calls for an investigation into prosecutorial misconduct and reform of the CFAA, and in response, Swartz’s lawyers had asked the court to unseal the vast majority of evidence in the case since all charges have been dismissed for months.
The specific information at issue is identifying information for JSTOR, MIT and certain law enforcement personnel, along with any information “identifying and sentitive network information.” As Swartz’s attorneys have noted, the proposed redactions includes job titles and other information needed to understand who was talking to whom in the voluminous email traffic, and it’s impossible to follow what happened in the course of the prosecution without it. This information is vital in understanding how involved MIT was in the prosecution and at what level in the institution, when and how JSTOR was involved and whether the Justice Department’s repeated public assertions that everything in the prosecution proceeded normally were accurate.
The Court gave short shrift to the great public interest here, dismissing it as significantly less important than the vague and largely unspecified “incidents of harassment and retaliation” claimed by the government, MIT and JSTOR. The judge used these alleged incidents as justification for removing nearly all identifying information of those involved—regardless of how likely they were to be actual targets for retaliation. It is difficult to believe that this case posed a bigger threat of retaliation than other federal cases involving violent offenses or organized crime, such that broad witness secrecy is required even after the case has ended.
Similarly, it seems unlikely that in a prosecution say, for a burglary, the victim would be able to prevent public access to any facts about how the incident occurred (was a crowbar used? a fake key?). Yet, here the court allowed MIT and JSTOR to prevent any information from being released about the broad term “sensitive network information.”
The big losers in this case are the countless number of Americans of who have raised legitimate and serious concerns about the prosecution of Aaron Swartz and who have urged Congress to reform the CFAA. With the facts and identities locked away, and only selectively revealed to Congress by the three entities most interested in defending the prosecution, how can those of us pushing for reform lawmakers determine what changes are needed? How can we respond to the government’s repeated claims that nothing went awry here? The result of this decision excuses accountability by denying the public access to the facts it needs to engage in the democratic process and fix the law.
The Court did note that if Congress wishes to know more, it can ask JSTOR, MIT or the government “on a case by case basis.” We hope that members of Congress, who just received a secret briefing from the DOJ, will take the court up on this offer and, to the extent they are thwarted, go back to the court for further relief.
“In case of Revolution Wear Glass” It’s safe to say that Google have a very direct marketing agenda when you read this strapline. Yet, I have to admit to you that I have been astounded by my own remarkable interest in the new arrival of the technological wizardry known as Google glass. Before you read on please accept that I have no profitable interest or agreement with Google. I personally despise what Google have become as they have long used their power to snoop on individuals and release private information to Corporate spies. So I am by no means a fan of what they stand for. But my interest in Google glass is not in relation to Google in particular because although Google are trying to be the pioneers in this new ‘glass-tech gadgetry’ it doesn’t mean they will be the leaders of the pack once this technology takes off in a big way in a few years time.
As we move beyond the 2012 marker and into a new beginning the world of secrets and secrecy is breaking down. Whether we believe in the Mayan calendrical date of 21 December 2012 or not we can all agree that our world is rapidly shifting and changing in ways unimaginable to our psyche of even five years ago. Power structures that once had a great hold on the collective consciousness are in fear of being exposed and discovered. The average person nowadays has heard of the term ‘the illuminati’, and although they may not have any idea about what this term actually means they have by association been exposed to salacious ideas of a world being run by a powerful elite. Of course for those of us who have long known about these things it is refreshing to see others waking up to this new world that has always been in front of our eyes, but for many reasons has not been easily knowable.
Whether we want to believe it or not the world of ‘No more secrets’ is before us. Yes, it is true that we are currently living in a police state and that there is a race on for your mind and soul. The elite have been running the show for a long time and have, in current years, revved up their dominance and desire to control our every move we make now more than ever. This is where Google glass becomes interesting. For the greedy elite they are hoping the innovation of this technology will be used by people to tune out and become mind controlled robots. I’m sure a certain section of the public will do just this in the early years, but I see Google glass becoming a way of life in the future and the initial plans to use this technological innovation in a negative way will back-fire.
In these current years of austerity the elite are in a great position of power to rob us of our savings, pensions, salaries and homes. We can pinpoint astrologically that these grievous times, we are living in, are the symptomatic result of Pluto in Capricorn. Capricorn rules structures, finance, economies and governance and with Pluto in Capricorn, this energy is expressed as austere, strict and controlling, hence we get the term the years of ‘austerity.’ The energy of Pluto loves to shake things up. It demands ruthless change, and will reveal the dark and dirty aspects of our world whether we like it or not. Since Pluto’s arrival in the sign of Capricorn in 2008 we have seen scandal after scandal. The financial system and structures that rule our world have been eroding and fighting for their survival. In the UK we have grappled with the misuse of public money by way of dodgy expenses used by our elected officials. We have heard the dark and twisted reality of phone tapping by News of the World, to get a ‘story’ at any expense. News of the World is of course owned by Rupert Murdoch, a powerful man who in the past has never had to answer to the public for his deeds, but we saw, if only briefly, his private and corrupt world being questioned and probed. And of course let us not forget the Jimmy Savile scandal and the issue of a large and well-connected pedophile ring that has brought well-known British celebrities front and centre as we learn about their sexual exploits with underage children. There has been no short supply of intrigue over the last six years since Pluto’s entry into Capricorn and as we wade through these tough years through to 2024 we will see a lot more.
In 2024 Pluto will move out of Capricorn and into Aquarius. The austerity years will become a beacon of the past and new themes of revolution and defiance, consciousness for the greater good, amazing technological leaps and becoming unified for a common purpose will move to the forefront. After being battered and bruised during the years of austerity and witnessing the collapse of first world economies, we will finally be ready for real change leaving the old world truly in the past. This is why I see great things for Google glass style objects in the coming future and I don’t believe people will tune out and become mindless robots if they choose to use them. Yes, the technology will be used to spy on us, there is no doubt about that. But we are now in the early years of the Age of Aquarius, and our online culture of sharing every detail of our personal lives with each other via Facebook, Twitter and other social media in general is only the beginning of the ‘No more secrets culture’, that is coming.
The establishment is not responsible for the discovery of social media technology, although with their help these big-wigs have financed and helped to spread the seeds. The brilliant ideas of social media have come from those born in the 80s and early 90s who are the Adam Swartz’s of our world. I have no doubt that there are more of these personalities to come in the future and they will revolutionise the way we communicate and share information. For their vision of the future is for all information about everything to be readily available at the touch of a fingertip. Those born in the 80s and beyond strongly believe information should be free and accessible to everyone everywhere whilst truly enjoying living their lives online and connected. These concepts can be a bit scary for those of us born in the 70s and earlier, for the world we were born into was all about keeping secrets and playing a power game of dominance and control. All one has to do is look at the years of the Cold War to understand this point further. Yet, I do believe that just as everybody is now walking around with a tablet and mobile phone, we will all, in about 10 years time, if not sooner, be styling Google type glasses or contact lenses. It doesn’t mean that you have to cop-out and tune out and live in a fairy tale world of virtual reality which I’m sure will become a feature of this technology. Conversely, the internet is a great tool for sharing ideas, creativity and thoughts. Hopefully in about ten years, when this technology has fully taken flight a reputable company with vision for the future that has our best privacy interests at heart will become the market leaders. Nevertheless, google glass technology is here to stay.

The search for the ‘one’ – that person who is there to love us, nurture us and spend our human existence with has never been stronger than it is today. As we move past 2012 and into the coming years a large number of people are awakening to their true potential. For some, old relationships are no longer serving the intent they once had. And for others a new feeling of purpose is revealing itself transcending the relationship and allowing the couple to grow together in new and innovative ways. What is important to note here is that one relationship is no more correct than the other as both serve as a key objective to help us traverse through our journey of life. This is where the world of the past has gone wrong. If a couple decides to end their time together it is seen as a failure and an insult to the notion of marriage. But when we allow ourselves to look outside of this box if a relationship ends it is purely the fulfilment of a journey and it is time to begin anew. Astrology has a lot to say about Soulmates and yes we can empirically prove that they exist. They can be in the form of lovers, best friends, business associates and family members. Their lives become very much intertwined in our own and they bring a message with the relationship. A message we learn to uncover during the time we spend together whether that is for 5 years or 40 or a lifetime.
Most people want to know about love, when is it coming, or is what they have the real thing. A love relationship with a Soulmate is very specific and there are distinct behavioural patterns and rules that are repeated which can be verified by a variety of case studies. Astrology works best when we are able to quantify it, observe how it operates to help us make judgements about how the universe operates. For a love relationship there are important placements to note that help us to distinguish a Soul mate connection from a simple love affair. Soul Mate relationships will have all of the following aspects noted below within the synastry in varying combinations. So here are a few points to keep in mind.
The angles of the birth chart are extremely sensitive and nothing in our lives happens without an angle of our chart or our Sun and Moon being activated. A person’s birth date, time and location will derive the angles of the chart which include the Ascendant ASC, Descendant DC, Midheaven MC, and Immum Coeli IC. If a time is not fully known chart rectification can help to find the correct time of birth. Look for planets to make tight aspects to the angles of the chart. Many astrologers like to keep orbs tight for a variety of reasons. But an orb of no more than 6 degrees can be considered. The closer an object is to the angle of our chart the more intensely we will feel it. The more precise connections someone shares to the angles of our chart the greater the chance we have something special.
I cannot stress just how important the Sun-Moon midpoint is. When I met my husband both of our Sun-Moon midpoints were strongly activated by our individually progressed Venus. On the day we married both of our Sun-Moon midpoints were activated by a transiting planet, for myself the transiting north node, for my husband Saturn. The Sun-Moon midpoint is a highly sensitive area of our chart. It blends the energies and qualities of the Sun and the Moon, the feminine and the masculine, the husband and the wife. When we meet a Soulmate the Sun-Moon midpoint is always activated as it represents a commitment to be fulfilled, one that involves nurture and love. It allows the inner being of ourselves to be illuminated and in a love relationship
is highly significant. Both the Near and far Midpoint are equally valid and should be used as well. You’ll find one point of the Sun-Moon midpoint axis being activated when we meet a significant love interest, as well as when we marry, and also when the relationship is ending.
The North Node and South Node shows our direction in life. It represents where we have been, where we are going, and what we should be doing with our lives. When one of our Lunar nodes connects with a love interests planet it combines the natal promise of our charts with a sense of direction and purpose for the future. South Node connections denote a past life together. Whereas North Node connections point to the work to be done in this lifetime and the future. Nodal connections are extremely binding. Look for the Nodes of a chart making a dynamic aspect such as a conjunction, inconjunct, square, opposition, semi-square, or sesiquadrate to the angle of another’s chart. These are expressive connections and show there is work to do together. My first love and I shared a Mars/South Node connection and his North Node was conjunct to the ruler of my Ascendant. He was my first lover but we didn’t end up together. In this case the South Node/Mars (passion) conjunction allowed us to re-live a love relationship that set us on a path towards our future. In contrast, my husband and I share a North Node/Descendant conjunction with his Ascendant conjunct my South Node. Most definitely I have known him in a past life as his Ascendant represents the physical body. Sometimes Astrology is simply so literal!
Sun-Venus and Mars-Venus Midpoint
Most Synastry compatibility charts will give you a highlight of your planets and the relationship they share with a love interest. Compatibility charts can be misleading and fall into what Astrologers call ‘Cookbook’ interpretations. The truth is Synastry is far more complicated than two people sharing a Sun-Moon conjunction, or a Venus-Moon trine. These aspects feel awfully good but what if my Sun is squared by Uranus? That would mean that your Moon also squares my Uranus. Uranus is a disruptive energy and it isn’t pleasant to have Uranus squaring the Moon in a Synastry chart if you are looking for commitment. Many times it is apparent that a couple can have great physical attraction but they do not share any of the typical attraction aspects in their Synastry chart. This is where using Midpoints is truly beneficial. Midpoints pack a heavy punch and show concentrated energy. If there is to be attraction between two people these two midpoints will definitely be activated. Again look for the more dynamic aspects with no more than a 3 degree orb although even softer aspects such as the trine can be considered if the orb is tight.
The vertex also known as ‘destiny’s gate’ is a particular angle in the chart that is highly sensitive. Soulmate couples will often have the Vertex activated at times when they meet as well as having natal planets making key aspects to the vertex. Never overlook the vertex. It can bring pertinent information about a relationship especially when you look at the first meeting chart. Again the rule is to keep the orbs tight when using the vertex but I have found that wide orbs can be just as powerful. The most striking and binding aspects involve the angle of one chart to the vertex of the other.
So these are just a few steps to consider when judging the potential of a Soulmate connection. There are other aspects that are important too, but hey one cannot be too greedy. Certainly, if you can tick all of the boxes described above then you are on your way to having quite a connection with someone.
